We offer free mushroom compost to our community. Mushroom compost, also referred to as SMS - spent mushroom substrate is widely used as a nutritious soil amendment and to feed worms. It’s especially helpful by adding moisture to sandy soils and remnants of the mycelium will continue to break down organic matter. A process called myco-remediation.
There are some risks associated to this form of compost which we have outlined in our waiver.
We are offering this to help our community rather than letting it go to waste in landfills but we also want anyone interested in using this product to be aware of the risks.
If you are interested in collecting our SMS for free, you will be required to read and sign the waiver below:
We will have a printed copy for you to sign the first time you come to collect the SMS but suggest you read this information in advance so that you may decide if SMS is right for you.
